# How was Wiki Cat created?

Wiki Cat, designed by **Sir Mapy** for the **SMC DAO**, was launched on **Sunday, March 20, 2022**, as a tool to educate Believers about the exciting opportunities within the cryptocurrency space.

Wiki Cat was created on the **BNB Chain** with a maximum supply of **1,000 trillion tokens**.&#x20;

Upon deployment, **30% of the total supply** was permanently sent to a burn wallet, ensuring these tokens could never be recovered.&#x20;

The remaining **70%** was made publicly available for buying and selling through **PancakeSwap**, with no tokens reserved for Sir Mapy or any other party.

To reinforce decentralization, the ownership of Wiki Cat was immediately renounced upon its creation.&#x20;

This action guarantees that Sir Mapy or anyone else has no control over the smart contract and cannot alter its functions or parameters, solidifying Wiki Cat as a truly decentralized cryptocurrency.

Before ownership was renounced, a **2% buy and sell tax** was implemented, of which **1% of every transaction** is allocated to token burning.&#x20;

This auto-deflationary mechanism reduces the circulating supply with each transaction, increasing the scarcity of Wiki Cat over time.

An initial liquidity of **$700 in BNB** was provided at launch, establishing a starting price of **$0.000000000001** (1 picodollar) per token.

To ensure stability and security for traders, Wiki Cat's liquidity was locked for **two years** from the day of its creation, with the lock-up period concluding on **April 27, 2024, at 7:00 PM**.&#x20;

Upon expiration, the locked liquidity was automatically sent to a dead wallet.&#x20;

This action ensures that the liquidity pool enabling trading cannot be accessed or removed, making Wiki Cat safe and stable for trading activities.
